Latvia is currently part of the cooperation agreement on the Partner Country Initiative, for the German side signed by Bibliothek & Information Deutschland (BID).
Founded in 1928, the Ogre Central Library has changed its location several times throughout its nearly 100-year history, but in 2021 it acquired new, modern premises. Today, the Ogre Central Library is considered one of the most modern and beautiful libraries in the Baltic States. The construction of the new building is based on principles of sustainability, and it is described as a smart building where energy efficiency and green technological solutions are combined with modern yet cozy architecture.
